Paint brushes

Brush handles
The user can choose between handles of quality beech wood, simple plastic handles in different shapes and colors or non-slip two-component handles. Wooden handles can be natural, waxed, or varnished.

Ferrules for brush handles
Different brushes require different ferrules. The choice depends on the buyer's requirements. The ferrules can have hard-wearing coatings. The user can choose between tubes of stainless steel, galvanized sheet metals or sheet metals coated with brass.

Filaments and fibers
Natural fibers are excellent for oil or solvent based coatings that dry slowly and provide excellent absorbtion and a high-quality top layer. For fast drying water-based coatings high-quality synthetic fibers are more suitable. The absorbency of the brush and transference of the coating to the surface being painted, can be influenced by the length and density of the fibers.

Handle shape
The shape of a handle is usualy determined by its use. For example, a long and curved at the end radiator handle is designed for painting places which are difficult to access, while thin handles enable more accurate paint application.
Paint rollers and accessories

Our rollers differ from others due to their interior. All of the Žima rollers contain an aditional pipe and clutch inside the body, which holds the roller with the handle. This allows high stability of the roller and prevents large quantities of paint from flowing into the body of the roller and later uncontrolled onto the surface that you are painting.

Different dimensions of the rollers
Paint rollers are available in various sizes ranging from 50 mm to 250 mm in width. They may have different diameters of the tube, for use with a handle with a diameter of the wire Ø6 mm or Ø8 mm.

Types of coating materials
Structure and absorption of the surface determine what kinds of materials are best suited for different applications and the type of coating required for the final coat. There is a choice of rollers made of natural materials, velour, foam, polyamide, polyacrylic or polyester.

Technology for attaching a cover to the core of the roller
Fixing the cover onto the core of the roller plays a key role for the life of the roller. With the help of the latest technology of thermo-fusion we provide a high-quality fixing of the cover to the core and there are no interfering seams on the roller. For padded rollers, which are used on rough surfaces, we are still using the classic method of stitching.

The length of the nap
Apart from the material which the cover is made of, the length of the naps also influences the absorbency of the roller. The naps are 4 mm to 22 mm long. The shorter naps are in general more suitable for smoother surfaces, and the longer naps are usually used on more rough surfaces.
Surface preparation tools

The materials of the wire brushes
Hand and mechanical wire brushes can be made of steel, brass or stainless steel.

Materials of the putty knifes
Smooth blades for reducing resistance and easy application of materials are made of stainless steel or steel. Due to the varnish, they have a longer corrosion resistance. Flexibility is optimized to provide better performance for various jobs.

Materials of the handles
The handles of the hand wire brushes are made of wood, which have been sanded, waxed or varnished.
Brooms and brushes

From natural to the synthetic fibers
The choice of fibers depends on the type and condition of the surface to which the product is intended. You can choose between natural and synthetic fibers, each of which has its own specific characteristics which ensures optimal use for a variety of conditions (wet/dry, rough/smooth surfaces, water-aggressive substances).

Handles for brooms and brushes
Different dimensions and materials of handles allow optimal use. Handles can be wooden or of painted metal.

Made to measure product solutions
According to the requirements of our customers, we develop and design industrial brushes for different purposes, such as brushes for production lines, cleaning devices and other industrial applications.

Special options:
- Basic options:
- circular brushes - discs,
- flat brushes,
- round and roller brushes,
- strip brushes.
From the basic forms many different implementations are possible. The preferred solution is to use the framework of these basic versions. This enables short fabrication times, lower production costs and utilization of existing technology.
At Žima we also offer the possibility of renewing the existing brushes, for which the preliminary view of our experts is necessary.
For the manufacture of special order brushes all existing materials used in the brush industry are available.
For those orders, please contact our experts, our sales representatives or visit us in the company, where you will be suitably advised. By prior arrangement, an expert can visit you in your company.
If you haven't finished painting... don't worry, you can continue tomorrow.
Simply put your brushes and rollers in a plastic bag and wrap them well. Keep them for the next day in a cool place to prevent the paint drying out.
VOC Directive
Do you know that Slovenia, as a member of the European Union, has established a strict environmental legislation, a part of which is the VOC Directive (Volatile Organic Compounds) since 2004 on limiting the volatile organic compounds (VOC). In practice, this means that for its implementation we have to replace the organic solvents-based coatings with water-based coatings. The brushes from natural bristles are no longer very suitable for its application, a better choice are synthetic bristle brushes or a combination of both.
